Residents of several areas in the national capital will face a 12-hour water supply disruption on Friday, as the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) conducts maintenance work.
According to an official statement from the DJB, the repair involves fixing a leakage in a major water pipeline, which will necessitate shutting down the Chandrawal Water Works for the duration.
The affected regions include Civil Lines, Hindu Rao Hospital, Kamla Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Pahar Ganj, Old and New Rajinder Nagar, Patel Nagar (East and West), Baljeet Nagar, Prem Nagar, Inderpuri, parts of cantonment areas, and nearby areas under the NDMC and South Delhi jurisdiction.
“Due to the repair of leakage in a 500 mm diameter Rising Main originating from Chandrawal Water Works inside the premises of Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial, Civil Lines, water supply will be disrupted for 12 hours starting from 11 am on September 20,” the statement explained.
The DJB has urged residents of the affected areas to use water judiciously during this period. Additionally, water tankers will be available upon request, and residents can contact the DJB helpline or central control room for assistance.
