Noida has recorded its highest-ever bid for a vehicle registration number, with a fancy plate from the newly launched UP16FH series selling for a record ₹27.5 lakh.
The online auction, conducted by the Noida transport department, witnessed intense bidding before Aviorion Pvt Ltd, a pharmaceutical company based in Sector 126, emerged as the highest bidder. The premium registration number, UP16FH0001, has reportedly been reserved for a Mercedes.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer Nand Kumar said participants were required to deposit a security amount of ₹33,000 to take part in the auction. As bidding progressed, the pharma firm placed the top offer and subsequently paid the full amount to secure the number. Officials confirmed the sale is the highest price ever fetched for a vehicle registration number in Noida.
The record-breaking bid comes months after another private company purchased registration number UP16FD0008 for ₹11 lakh in September 2025. In the past, however, some high-value bids have failed to translate into final purchases. In one such instance, a bidder offered ₹32 lakh for number UP16EP0001 but later backed out of the deal
