New Delhi: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Vietnam’s General Secretary and President To Lam in New Delhi and discussed ways to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Vietnam.

According to MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, both leaders exchanged views on strengthening the broad and strategic ties between the two nations. During the meeting, President To Lam also expressed interest in his upcoming meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the scheduled engagements over the next two days.
Vietnam President To Lam arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday afternoon for his first state visit to India. He was warmly welcomed on arrival by Minister Nityanand Rai.
Sharing details of the visit, Randhir Jaiswal said this year marks 10 years of the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He noted that the visit is expected to further boost the strong and multifaceted relationship between the two countries.
The visit is being seen as an important step in expanding bilateral cooperation as both sides focus on strengthening strategic ties.
