In the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has announced plans to visit Srinagar on Friday. His visit follows the tragic incident that shook the region, with the death toll and consequences still unfolding.
Rahul Gandhi, who had been on an official visit to the United States, made the decision to cut his trip short and return to New Delhi early Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also cut short their respective foreign trips.
Earlier, the central government convened an all-party meeting to discuss the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and to formulate a unified response to the attack. During the meeting, Rahul Gandhi extended full support to the government, stating, “Everyone condemned the Pahalgam Terrorist Attack. The opposition has given full support to the government to take any action necessary.”
