Panama Foreign Minister Arrives In India For Five-Day Official Visit

Panama Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Eduardo Martinez-Acha Vasquez arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for a five-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between India and Panama.

Welcoming the visiting minister, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “Warm welcome to FM @javierachapma of Panama on his arrival in New Delhi. India and Panama share a close partnership anchored in shared values, mutual interests and goodwill.”

The visit, scheduled from July 19 to 23, will focus on expanding cooperation in trade, commerce, connectivity, and diplomatic engagement.

On Monday, Martinez-Acha will meet Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal at the New Parliament Building to discuss ways to boost trade and economic relations. He will also hold delegation-level talks with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar at Hyderabad House to review bilateral ties and explore new areas of cooperation.

The Panamanian Foreign Minister will continue official engagements on Tuesday before meeting Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday. Discussions are expected to focus on maritime cooperation, logistics, port infrastructure, and connectivity.

The visit will conclude on Thursday.
