Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said his promise to avenge the deadly Pahalgam terror attack had been fulfilled through Operation Sindoor, attributing its success to the blessings of Lord Shiva.
Addressing a public gathering in his parliamentary constituency, the prime minister recalled the loss of 26 lives in the July 19 attack. “My vow to avenge the sindoor of our daughters has been honoured with Mahadev’s blessings,” Modi said, adding that the strength and unity of 140 crore Indians powered the operation.
During his visit, Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 52 projects worth approximately ₹2,183 crore. The slew of schemes spans sectors including road infrastructure, hospital upgrades, drinking water supply, new sports complexes, animal hospitals, libraries, ghats for pilgrims, and dog care centers.
The prime minister also released the 20th instalment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, transferring ₹20,500 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.7 crore farmers across the country.
At Banauli village in Sevapuri block, he distributed assistive devices such as wheelchairs, tricycles, and visual aids to disabled individuals and senior citizens.
Modi’s greetings in the local dialect drew loud applause from the crowd. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and senior BJP leaders were present on stage.
