PM Modi Hails Maha Kumbh’s Success, Calls It Symbol Of National Unity

Date:

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday lauded the successful organisation of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, calling it a monumental event that showcased India’s unity, spiritual heritage, and collective effort. Addressing the Lok Sabha, PM Modi highlighted the participation of over 66 crore devotees, emphasizing that the event reflected the power of ‘Sabka Prayas’.

“Today, through this House, I bow down to the countrymen, because of whom the Maha Kumbh was organised successfully. Many people have contributed to the success of the Maha Kumbh,” the Prime Minister stated. He described the festival as a unifying force that brought together individuals from all walks of life, reinforcing the spirit of national harmony.

The Maha Kumbh, held every 12 years, is considered one of the largest religious congregations in the world. This year’s event saw an overwhelming turnout, with millions of pilgrims gathering at the Triveni Sangam to take a holy dip and participate in spiritual activities. PM Modi likened this collective devotion to the legendary descent of the Ganga to Earth, symbolizing the country’s deep-rooted faith and unity.

During his address, PM Modi recalled the contributions of historical figures such as Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, emphasizing how spiritual consciousness has played a role in shaping the country’s journey.

The Prime Minister underlined how the Maha Kumbh reinforced India’s core principle of unity in diversity. “This gathering was a reflection of India’s ability to stand together, regardless of social, economic, or regional differences. It was a living example of the harmony that defines our nation,” he noted.

Concluding his speech, PM Modi urged the people to preserve the spirit of unity fostered by the event. “It is our collective responsibility to sustain and nurture this feeling of oneness, which is our biggest strength,” he said.
