PM Modi Presents Russian Edition Of Bhagavad Gita To President Putin

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday presented a Russian-translated copy of the Bhagavad Gita to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who arrived in New Delhi for a two-day official visit.

The gesture marked a symbolic start to the Russian leader’s trip, underscoring the cultural and diplomatic warmth between the two nations.

Sharing a photograph of the exchange on X, PM Modi described the sacred text as one that continues to inspire people globally.

“Presented a copy of the Gita in Russian to President Putin. The teachings of the Gita give inspiration to millions across the world,” PM Modi wrote on X. (Credit: @narendramodi)

Putin received a warm welcome upon landing at Delhi’s Palam airport earlier in the evening, where PM Modi personally greeted him.

In another post, Modi said, “Delighted to welcome my friend, President Putin to India. Looking forward to our interactions later this evening and tomorrow. India-Russia friendship is a time tested one that has greatly benefitted our people.” (Credit: @narendramodi)

Highlighting the close rapport between the two leaders, Modi and Putin later shared a car ride from the airport to the Prime Minister’s residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.
