Nripendra Mishra, Chairperson of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, had previously stated that the ground floor of the three-story temple in Ayodhya is set to be completed by December this year. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Ram Temple on August 5, 2020, in Ayodhya.
The Supreme Court in 2019 cleared the path for a trust to construct the Ram temple at the contested Ayodhya site. Additionally, the Court directed the government to allocate a five-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for the construction of a new mosque in the significant place within the sacred town of Uttar Pradesh.
The court had ruled that the 2.77 acres of the contested land, once home to the demolished 16th-century Babri Masjid, be entrusted to a central government receiver, and within three months, it would be transferred to the trust for the construction of a temple.
