Chamba: President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday expressed grief over the deaths in a bus accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
The accident occurred on the morning of August 8 when a private bus reportedly skidded off the road near Chalunj Mor on the Tisa-Bairagarh route. At least seven people were killed and 11 others injured in the incident, which took place amid continuous monsoon rains in the region.
In a post on X, President Murmu offered condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the recovery of those undergoing treatment.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also mourned the deaths and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
He directed the Chamba district administration to ensure that all injured passengers are admitted to nearby hospitals without delay and receive proper medical treatment.
The accident occurred as heavy monsoon rainfall continues to affect parts of Himachal Pradesh, disrupting road connectivity and essential services in several areas.
Authorities have been monitoring the situation amid the challenging weather conditions.
