He was the man behind the world-class airports in India and in his own words, shy ‘guy’ former Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel‘s book, Udaan was released at a glittering ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the first copy was presented to President Pranab Mukherjee.

“I am delighted that my two mentors President Pranab Mukherjee and Sharad Pawar are doing the honors, Patel said letting out a secret that he was at heart a ‘shy’ personality. Patel who served as the Aviation Minister paved way for world-class airports in India and was instrumental in bringing the Under 17 football World Cup to India as the President of the All India Football Federation.
President Mukherjee lauded the contribution of Patel to the aviation and heavy industry ministries and wished him well for his future political flight. He recalled that Patel had a disarming smile in Parliament which helped him tide and he had a unique quality that he never got provoked.
