Protests Erupt In Manipur After Bomb Attack Kills Two Minors

Date:

Widespread protests broke out across five valley districts of Manipur after two minors were killed in a bomb attack in Bishnupur district. The incident occurred in Tronglaobi village when a suspected militant strike targeted a residential house, triggering a powerful explosion.

The blast killed two children on the spot, while their mother suffered shrapnel injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Imphal.

Security forces later recovered another explosive device from the area, which was safely defused. In response to the unrest, the State Home Department imposed a ban on mobile data and internet services across the affected districts for three days.

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand strongly condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly act. Addressing the media in Imphal, he assured that those responsible would be identified and brought to justice.

The Chief Minister also announced that the case will be handed over to the National Investigation Agency for a detailed investigation.
