Pune: The mother of a teenager involved in a fatal Porsche crash in Pune was arrested on Saturday for allegedly helping to tamper with her son’s blood sample after the accident, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar quoted by reports.
This marks the fourth arrest in connection with the case, following the apprehension of the minor, his father, and his grandfather. The arrest comes days after the Pune Police informed a local court that the blood samples of the juvenile driver were allegedly exchanged with those of a woman.
The crash occurred in the early hours of May 19 in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar, resulting in the deaths of two software engineers, Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta. The accident involved a Porsche allegedly being driven by the drunk minor, who rammed into the victims’ two-wheeler.
The 17-year-old minor has been sent to an observation home. His father, realtor Vishal Agarwal, and his grandfather, Surendra Agarwal, have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping the family’s driver and pressuring him to take the blame for the crash.
“The investigation is ongoing, and we are committed to ensuring justice for the victims,” said Commissioner Kumar.
