Pune: Police investigating the death of 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal have alleged that his fiance, Siya Goyal, and her lover, Chetan Babulal Chaudhary, planned the murder hours before the incident at Lohagad Fort near Pune.
According to investigators, Siya and Chetan met at a café on the morning of June 18, where they allegedly discussed the plan and identified locations at the fort from which Ketan could be pushed. Later that day, Siya took Ketan to Lohagad Fort while Chetan reportedly followed them during the trek.
Police claim this was not the first attempt. Earlier visits to the fort had allegedly been arranged by Siya, including an incident on June 14 when Ketan reportedly survived after grabbing onto a bush. Investigators allege that Siya then claimed a snake had caused the incident and presented herself as having helped him.
During the June 18 trek, police say Chetan stayed nearby and communicated with Siya through hand gestures. CCTV footage allegedly shows him wearing a hoodie while following the couple.
The case remains under investigation as authorities continue examining the sequence of events leading to Ketan’s death.
