Raghav Chadha Hits Back at Punjab AAP Over Rajya Sabha Claims

Date:

New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has hit back at accusations from Punjab AAP leaders claiming he failed to raise the state’s issues in Parliament.

Chadha shared a video compilation of his speeches in the Upper House addressing Punjab-centric matters, including the Nankana Sahib corridor, Minimum Support Price (MSP) guarantees for farmers, Bharat Ratna for Bhagat Singh, and the return of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s royal throne.

Chadha captioned the video, “Punjab isn’t a talking point for me. It is my home, my duty, my soil, my soul… Here is a small trailer… Picture Abhi Baaki Hai.” The post comes after his removal as AAP’s Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha last week, amid ongoing friction with party leadership, including national convener Arvind Kejriwal.

Punjab AAP leaders, including Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, criticized Chadha, saying he avoided raising sensitive issues despite being elected to represent the state at the national level.

Senior leader Saurabh Bharadwaj added that Chadha had deleted social media posts critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, accusing him of reshaping his political image.

The spat intensified after Chadha alleged that AAP leadership tried to block him from raising public issues, while the party accused him of focusing on “less significant” matters and deviating from the party line.

The confrontation underscores internal tensions as Chadha continues to assert his political stance through social media and parliamentary interventions.
