New Delhi: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Saturday criticised the removal of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk from Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, calling it “wrong” and accusing the Narendra Modi government of following the principles of “Asatya” (falsehood) and “Hinsa” (violence).
The core tenets of the Modi government are Asatya and Hinsa.

Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike since June 28 over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and student deaths linked to the controversy, was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital by Delhi Police on Saturday.
Police said the move followed Delhi High Court directions and expert medical advice due to his deteriorating health, adding that officers exercised “maximum restraint” despite brief resistance during the transfer.
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), however, alleged Wangchuk was “forcefully abducted” without consent and denied claims that his condition had worsened.
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das questioned the medical grounds for the transfer, while Wangchuk’s wife, Gitanjali J. Angmo, said the planned July 20 Parliament march would proceed even if she had to lead it.
Linking the protest to broader education concerns, Gandhi said paper leaks, rising education costs and student suicides could not be silenced through force.
Referring to his recent “Chhatron Ki Goonj” rally in Dehradun, he reiterated the need for sweeping reforms, including a secure, technology-driven and student-centric examination system.
