Rain fury wrecks havoc across India; 25 dead in North

Heavy rains lashed India over the last 3-4 days creating havoc in the country. In Bengaluru, roads were left waterlogged, houses flooded, and commuters stuck in hours of traffic jams on Sunday night and Monday morning.

The major effect of the downpour was felt in Southwest Bengaluru and the areas included Anjanapura, Gottigere, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, and Kengeri.

A small landslide was also witnessed near Nagarbhavi ORR that left the citizens worried due to the number of houses around the area.

25 people lost their lives in the flash floods, landslides, and roof-falling due to the profuse rain in Himachal Pradesh. Total eight deaths were reported from Himachal Pradesh while seven were from Jammu & Kashmir, six from Punjab, and four from Haryana.

Within Himachal, the worst-hit area was Kullu where a high alert was announced, the Chandigarh-Manali highway and Mandi on Pathankot-Chamba highway were hit by heavy landslides.

The higher patches Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu, and Kinnaur experienced heavy snowfall with over two-feet snow witnessed in Keylong leaving 300 people stranded.

All educational institutions in Kullu, Chamba, Kangra, and Hamirpur have been ordered to stay closed till September 25 by the government, and a red alert was sounded in Punjab and all educational institutions are shut today.
