On Friday, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) received a bomb threat via an email written in Russian, prompting an investigation by Mumbai police. The threatening message, sent to the RBI’s official website, warned of an explosion.
A case has been filed against an unidentified individual at the Mata Ramabai Marg (MRA Marg) police station. The Mumbai police’s Zone 1 Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
This bomb threat follows a series of similar threats against schools in Delhi. On the same day, six schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails, leading to extensive security measures.
The Delhi Fire Services reported calls from several schools, including Bhatnagar International School, Cambridge School, and DPS Amar Colony, with bomb detection teams and dog squads dispatched for checks. Authorities instructed parents to keep children at home or retrieve them if they had already arrived.
Earlier, on December 9, at least 44 schools in Delhi had received similar threats, though police had declared those incidents as hoaxes
