Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort, which claimed eight lives and left several others injured.
“Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening. May the injured recover at the earliest. Those affected are being assisted by authorities,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X.
The blast occurred near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, when a car caught fire following an explosion, damaging several nearby vehicles. Multiple security and forensic teams, including the NIA, NSG, and FSL, are on-site investigating the cause.
Authorities have put Delhi and neighbouring states on high alert.
