The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for commuters in anticipation of the Republic Day parade on January 26, providing important information to ensure a smooth and safe journey. The advisory includes details about the parade route, roads to avoid, and alternative routes.
Parade Route
The parade will start from Vijay Chowk and travel through Kartavya Path, C-Hexagon, R/A Statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg, and will conclude at the Red Fort.
Roads to Avoid
- Vijay Chowk to India Gate until the parade ends
- Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road until the parade concludes
- C-Hexagon until the parade crosses Tilak Marg
- Tilak Marg, BSZ Marg, and Subhash Marg in both directions
Alternate Routes
- North-South Corridor: Ring Road from Ashram Chowk to Sarai Kale Khan, IP Flyover to Rajghat, and then Ring Road
- Madarsa to Lodhi Road ‘T’ point: Aurobindo Marg, AIIMS Chowk, Ring Road, Dhaula Kuan, Vande Mataram Marg, Shankar Road, Park Street, or Mandir Marg
- East-West Corridor: Ring Road to Bhairon Road, Mathura Road, Lodhi Road, Aurobindo Road, AIIMS Chowk, Ring Road, Dhaula Kuan, Vande Mataram Marg, Shankar Road, Park Street, or Mandir Marg
- Ring Road to Boulevard Road: Barf Khana Chowk, Rani Jhansi Flyover, Faiz Road, Vande Mataram Marg, Shankar Road
- Ring Road to ISBT: Chandgi Ram Akhara, IP College, Mall Road, Azadpur, Punjabi Bagh
In addition, Delhi police have restricted the entry of all goods vehicles (heavy, medium, and light) into Delhi from 9 pm on January 22 until the Republic Day parade dress rehearsal on January 23, with exceptions made for essential services.
