SC Issues Notice On Transfer Petitions By NTA On NEET-UG Case

Date:

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday took up petitions filed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding the NEET-UG 2024 examination. The NTA has sought the transfer of cases currently pending before the Rajasthan High Court to the Supreme Court.

Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, issued notices to the petitioners involved in the High Court cases. The Supreme Court also decided to tag the transfer petitions with existing matters related to the NEET-UG 2024 exam already under consideration in the apex court.

The petitions challenge the conduct of the NEET exam, alleging paper leakage and malpractices during the test. The Supreme Court is already handling a series of pleas related to the NEET-UG 2024, which include demands to annul the results and conduct a fresh examination.

The exam, conducted on May 5 across 4,750 centres, saw participation from approximately 24 lakh candidates, with concerns raised over question paper leaks and discrepancies in question formats.
