Television actor Shweta Tiwari has raised concerns over food hygiene after allegedly finding a cockroach in her home following a cold drink delivery.
Tiwari shared a video on social media in which a cockroach can be seen crawling inside her house. She also showed the cold drink items she had ordered and tagged the food delivery platform while seeking the attention of Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe.
In the video, Tiwari can be heard pointing out the cockroach and asking Mundhe to intervene. She said, “And along with that, a cockroach came too. Look at this, the cockroach is running all over the house.”
She then appealed directly to the FDA commissioner, adding, “Mundhe ji, cockroaches have now started entering our home. Where are you? Please look into this.”
Tiwari said the insect was moving around her home and urged the authorities to look into the matter. The video has since drawn attention on social media, with the actor’s post highlighting concerns over hygiene linked to food and beverage deliveries.
The incident comes at a time when Tukaram Mundhe, an IAS officer serving as Maharashtra’s FDA commissioner, has been receiving attention for the department’s enforcement activities against food safety and hygiene violations.
The Maharashtra FDA has been conducting inspections of restaurants, food businesses and quick-commerce warehouses, with officials taking action over alleged violations of food safety standards.
