Gurugram: In a tragic incident, six children lost their lives and numerous others sustained injuries after a school bus overturned near Unhani village of Kanina in Haryana’s Narnaul on Thursday morning. The incident has sparked shock and grief in the community, raising questions about safety standards and regulatory oversight.
The bus, which belonged to GL Public School, was reportedly operating despite a holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr, officials revealed. The District Education Officer confirmed the devastating toll, stating that six children succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
Shockingly, according to reports, official documents uncovered a glaring lapse in oversight: the school bus’s fitness certificate had expired six years ago in 2018. This revelation underscores the urgent need for stricter enforcement of safety regulations and periodic inspections to prevent such tragedies in the future.
The authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic incident. Efforts are underway to provide medical care and support to the injured children and their families, while measures to prevent similar accidents are being urgently reviewed.
