Laurene Powell Jobs, the wife of late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, is dealing with allergies on her second day at the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Despite her discomfort, she is still planning to take part in the sacred ritual of dipping in the Ganga river.
Swami Kailashanand Giri told ANI that Laurene is resting in his camp due to her allergies, explaining that she is not used to such large crowds. He described her as humble and simple and shared that participants who have never attended the Kumbh often want to join in the rituals. Laurene will take part in the ritual of the sacred dip at the Sangam.
Laurene, who arrived in Prayagraj on Monday for the event, was given a Hindu name, “Kamala,” by Swami Kailashanand before the Kumbh began. She will remain at the Niranjani Akhara camp in the Kumbh tent city until January 15, after which she plans to return to the US for the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on January 20.
