Patna: Police have arrested three people, including the director of a coaching institute, in connection with an attack on educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir’s, coaching centre in Patna. The accused were produced before a court and sent to judicial custody on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night at Khan Global Studies in the Kadamkuan area. While Khan Sir claimed that firing took place, Patna Police said CCTV footage and preliminary investigation confirmed stone-pelting and vandalism but found no evidence of gunfire.
According to police, 15 to 20 individuals allegedly linked to Gyan Bindu Coaching Institute were involved in the attack. A security guard was injured during the incident and is undergoing treatment. Investigators are recording statements from the guard and local residents while probing the motive and possible involvement of additional suspects.
Police said further arrests are likely.
The attack initially sparked reports of firing and led to heavy deployment of security personnel, including the Patna SSP, SP and multiple police teams. Raids are underway to trace others involved.
On Wednesday, a large number of students gathered outside the institute near Musallahpur Haat, raising slogans and demanding strict action against those responsible. “We want justice. We want security,” students said during the protest.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and all aspects of the case are being examined.
