The US Embassy in India on Tuesday confirmed that it is preparing to host US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during his first official visit to India later this month.

The visit is expected to strengthen strategic ties between the two countries and support key multilateral discussions, including a proposed ministerial-level Quad meeting to be hosted by India.
Sharing the update on X, the US mission stated, “The U.S. Embassy in India looks forward to welcoming @SecRubio for his first visit to India, ministerial Quad meetings, high level engagements, and celebrating 250 years of America.”
US Ambassador Sergio Gor also expressed optimism over the visit on May 6, describing Rubio as a “good friend” and reaffirming Washington’s commitment to stronger bilateral relations with New Delhi.
In his post on X, Gor said, “Looking forward to welcoming my good friend Secretary Rubio to India! The United States deeply values our growing partnership with India, and we are excited to build even stronger ties that will benefit both our nations and the world. See you soon, Mr Secretary!”
He further described India as a vital partner and hinted at major diplomatic developments ahead.
