New Delhi: Former Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been acquitted in the sexual harassment case by a Delhi court. Co-accused Vinod Tumar was also acquitted in the same case.
Reacting to the court’s decision, Wrestling Federation of India President Sanjay Singh said, “slap in the face of our opponents”.
Sanjay Singh further stated that the allegations made against Brij Bhushan, including those by World Championship medallist Vinesh Phogat, were baseless. He also said the controversy had caused “significant damage” to the sport in our country.
The remarks came shortly after the Delhi court announced its verdict, bringing the case against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tumar to a close.
