A video of a clash between protestors and security forces is making rounds on social media and it is being claimed it is the reaction of local Kashmiris after Article 370 was scrapped from Jammu and Kashmir.

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact checked the above video, we found the video to be old.

As we can see the watermark of Russian news agency ‘Ruptly’, on making a Google search with keywords such as ‘Ruptly’, ‘Jammu and Kashmir’, ‘Protests’, ‘Stone Pelting’, we came across the same video on the official YouTube channel of Ruptly.

The video dated May 15, 2017 is of clashes between police and protesters outside a college campus in Srinagar.

Hence, the above information proves that two-year-old video of protests is being shared with a misleading claim.
