FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.

Running a Reverse Image Search, our team traced a Facebook post on the official Facebook handle of Occupy Bahrain, dated November 6, 2012. The building in the image matches with the one in the viral video, and explains that it’s the burning of a police station in Sitra, Bahrain, on November 5, 2012.

Our team spotted a longer YouTube video, titled: البحرين : محاصرة مركز للشرطة وحرقه – سترة (English translation: Bahrain: A police station was besieged and burned – Sitra), published on the official channel of Revolution Bahrain – Media Centre of the revolution in Bahrain, dated December 30, 2012.

The video keyframes starting at 00:57 match with the viral clip and the description confirms that it is the scene of a demonstrators’ attack on a police station on Sitra Island, south of Manama. The attack occurred on November 3, 2012, and it was a result of the deterioration of the health of Professor Hassan Mushaima — a political prisoner in Al-Khalifiya prisons, as his cancer recurred due to medical negligence in the prison.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming the Israeli embassy was recently set on fire in Bahrain by the locals, is fake.
