FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, our team spotted a similar clip on YouTube, uploaded on October 19, 2014. According to the Arabic caption, the video depicts a wounded Syrian child mourning the loss of his sister.
Also, an extended version of the video on YouTube, posted by Aleppo Media Centre — a Syrian activist media group, dated February 14, 2014, indicates that it captures a child grieving for his sibling, who was a casualty of a helicopter bombing in the Masaken Hanano district of Aleppo, Syria. In 2014, Aleppo Media Centre also shared a photograph of the weeping child on its Facebook page, accompanied by a caption: “Masaken Hanano neighbourhood.”
CNN Arabic had featured the clip of the mourning brother in a report on February 16, 2022.
Thus, it is evident from the above information that the viral video is old and unrelated to the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.
