Doing a simple Reverse Image Search, the NM team identified a tweet, dated June 29, 2015, carrying the same viral image. The tweet text reads: “Israeli Flag displayed on Flame Towers in #Baku honouring part. of Team Israel at @BakuGames2015 in #Azerbaijan”.
Searching further, we found the same image uploaded on the Facebook page of Azerbaijan Consulate General in Los Angeles on June 30, 2015, with a description: “Israeli flag displayed on Flame Towers in #Baku honouring participation of Team Israel at European Games in #Azerbaijan”.
Another YouTube video, dated June 2015, also displays Flame Towers building adorned with flags, including the Israeli flag, representing countries participating in the Baku Games.
