A video of French President Emmanuel Macron being hit by an egg has gone viral on social media claiming that the incident happened during his recent visit to Egypt.
The Facebook post reads: An egg was thrown at Macron’s head during his visit to Egypt 25.10.2023.

Running a keyword search on YouTube, our team found the same clip, dated March 2017, with a title: “Egg fell on the forehead of French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron”.
This incident had also been reported by multiple media houses in 2017, including ETV Telangana and the French weekly news magazine, L’Express.
Russian media outlet Ruptly had covered the incident on March 1, 2017.
The same incident was also published in the Express in 2017. It happened when Macron had come to attend the Salon International de l’Agriculture event.
Hence, it is clear that the viral video in circulation is quite old.
