The footage depicts the man holding his daughter as he recounts her passing from a snakebite and blames the PM for inadequate amenities near their village.

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the video in question, and found it to be misleading.
Upon closely examining the viral video, the NM team heard the father mentioning that the incident occurred in Sitamarhi, Bihar. Searching on Google with keywords like ‘Sitamarhi Bihar girl dies of snakebite’, we traced a news article by the Hindi news outlet Amar Ujala, dated September 11, 2018, with a headline: “September 11: Father holds deceased daughter, curses the health services of the country” (Text in Hindi: “11 सितंबर : बच्ची की लाश के साथ पिता बरसा देश की स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं पर”). The video featured in this report exactly matches with the viral post.

Another report by The Lallantop, dated September 10, 2018, provides further details about the incident. The report, titled: “What did this father say while holding his daughter’s dead body in his lap that 50,000 people shared the video?”, reveals that four-and-a-half-year-old Simran was taken to a referral hospital in Kasba, Bihar, after suffering a snakebite on September 7. Although a doctor at the hospital administered an injection, Simran’s condition continued to deteriorate. The medical staff then advised the family to transfer Simran to Sadar Hospital, but there was no ambulance available for transportation. Consequently, the family arranged a tempo to transport Simran to Sadar Hospital, which was 30 km away. Tragically, Simran passed away during the journey. The video shows the father accusing the staff of Majorganj Referral Hospital of negligence. The report from The Lallantop also quoted Majorganj Station House Officer (SHO), Saif Ahmed Khan, who confirmed the incident and stated that the family had taken appropriate measures to save Simran, including tying a cloth around the wound to prevent the poison from spreading further. Khan mentioned that the police would take action in the matter if Simran’s family lodged a complaint.
Thus, we can conclusively say that an old video showing a father holding his deceased daughter has gone viral with false narratives.
