FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Running a keyword search about Trump’s speech, the NM team identified a YouTube video on the official channel of the US Department of State. As per the video description, the then President Trump’s statement on the death of Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi at the White House, on October 27, 2019.
We found the same speech on the official channel of the Washington Post as well. In his address, Trump had informed that Baghdadi was killed in an attack carried out by US Special Operations Forces in northwestern Syria. This confirms that the video has nothing to do with the recent killing of Haniya.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show Trump’s reaction to Ismail Haniya’s death, is false.
