A Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes detects an X post, dated January 19, 2025, confirming that the footage predates the Pahalgam terror attack. The post stated that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was speaking about making Rome the capital of the European Union.
Further investigation revealed the original video on a YouTube channel — Vista Agenzia Televisiva Nazionale — was uploaded on April 14, 2019. As per its description, the speech took place in Turin during the European Parliament election campaign.
News reports confirm that in this speech, Meloni proposed that Rome should become the EU’s capital, arguing it would better reflect Europe’s ancient traditions rather than just being a convenient administrative location.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video of Italian Prime Minister issuing a strong warning to Pakistan on the Pahalgam terror attack is Misleading.
