FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found the claims to be false.
A Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes led the NM team to find the original YouTube video, uploaded by the Haryana Tak News channel on September 5, 2021. The video description confirms it covers live footage of the Kisan Maha Panchayat event in Muzaffarnagar, held on the same day. At 11:14 timestamp of this video, we hear Tikait saying, “If such (BJP) governments continue in the country, they will continue to create riots. Earlier, Tikait (Father of Rakesh Tikait and former BKU President Mahendra Singh Tikait) used to chant as well. ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ (Immediately the crowd chanted ‘Har Har Mahadev’), ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ (again the crowd chanted ‘Har Har Mahadev’). These ‘Allah Hu Akbar-Har Har Mahadev’ slogans have been used in movements in the country so far. They will continue to be chanted in future movements as well. Riots do not break out near us. If they try to divide people, we try to unite. People should not be fooled by false propaganda.”
Another YouTube video released by BBC News Hindi on September 7, 2021, offers a detailed explanation of Rakesh Tikait’s use of the phrase Allah Hu Akbar. The video reveals that Tikait did not solely chant ‘Allah Hu Akbar.’ Instead, he said the phrase, followed by the crowd responding with Har Har Mahadev.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral clip, claiming Rakesh Tikait chanted Allah Hu Akbar at a public rally, is false.
