FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Had there been any explosion in Tehran as a result of retaliation by Israel, it would have been covered by media worldwide. Running the viral picture through Reverse Image Search, the NM team traced a news report in The Times of Israel, dated June 2, 2021.
The picture in the article matches with the viral clip, informing that smoke billowing from the site of a refinery fire in Tehran due to a massive fire that broke out in the refinery plant in June 2021.
Reuters, too, reported on the incident stating that no casualties were reported.
Searching further, we found the same image published in Getty Images corroborating the claims made in The Times of Israel.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show an explosion in Tehran after retaliation by Israel, is false.
