Given the recent escalations along the Lebanon-Israel border and reports of Palestinian fighters crossing into Israel, as the situation remains tense. The Israeli military has stated that they intervened to stop several Palestinians attempting to breach the border.
Against this backdrop, a video depicting a large group of people crossing the border is widely shared on social media. People can be seen carrying flags representing Palestine and Syrian Social Nationalist Party. It’s claimed that Lebanese civilians were attempting to enter Israel to support Palestinians in light of Israel’s actions in Gaza.
The video is shared on Facebook with a caption: “Right now: Lebanese civilians are scaling the border fence to defend Palestinians. SSNP flag flies in the wind. Rise again greater Syria! Rise!”

Doing a Reverse Image Search on keyframes from the viral video, the NM team identified a tweet, dated May 16, 2021, carrying the same video with similar claims. So, the viral video cannot be related to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
Another report in CNN Arabia, dated May 17, 2021, carries a clip similar to the viral video. Additionally, we also came across comparable images of Lebanese citizens congregating along the Israeli border in other media reports from that timeframe.
According to the CNN report, Lebanese demonstrators, deeply moved by the dire situation of Palestinians in Gaza, forcibly breached the wall along the Lebanese-Israeli border. They dismantled wires and hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at Israeli soldiers. Some protesters managed to ascend the wall, affixing Palestinian flags onto the 25-foot barrier.
Thus, we can conclusively say that it is an old video of Lebanese people crossing the Israeli border, which is falsely linked with the Israel-Palestine conflict.
