A video depicting fencing outside the United States Supreme Court is being widely circulated online, claiming that it was recorded recently. Some viewers speculate it coincides with a significant court ruling or observation.
The Facebook post reads: “Fences up around the Supreme Court. There must be a ruling coming that the dems won’t like. They are the only ones who riot.”

FACT CHECK
Newsmobile fact-checked the claim, and found it to be misleading.
Running the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team spotted the identical visuals posted on a profile under the name ‘Mitchell Miller’, uploaded on May 5, 2022, with a caption: “Fencing now surrounds the US Supreme Court following protests and the leak of the draft decision that could overturn Roe v. Wade.”

We also found an NBC4 Washington report, dated May 5, 2022, revealing that an eight-foot fence had been installed outside the Supreme Court building in Washington, DC. This action followed three days of ongoing protests concerning reproductive rights, sparked by a leaked draft opinion suggesting that the court justices were preparing to overturn Roe v. Wade, a pivotal decision that established abortion rights nationwide.
Therefore, it is evident that an outdated video is being circulated with the false assertion that it depicts current footage of fencing around the US Supreme Court.
