NewsMobile found the claim, and found it to be misleading.
Searching with relevant keywords like ‘Muslim man forced to chant Jai Shri Ram’, the NM team traced a different video uploaded by CNN News 18, dated August 29, 2021, featuring the same audio.
We also found the extended version of the viral video, featuring the same audio, can be found in a video uploaded on Mojo Story’s YouTube channel, dated August 30, 2021. The incident allegedly occurred when Abdul Rasheed, a scrap dealer from Mahidpur town, visited Sikli village, located under the jurisdiction of the Jharda police station, to collect scrap. The altercation reportedly took place over his entry into the village. Abdul Rasheed managed to escape the situation after complying with their demands. Further, police arrested the accused duo.
Performing a Reverse Image Search, we found the viral video uploaded on X, with a caption: “A 40-45-year-old Muslim man was molesting a 14-year-old girl for the last 5 days at Nathu Colony Chowk in Shahdara, Delhi. Today he was caught red-handed at Nathu Colony Chowk by the girl’s parents and her family members”, dated May 9, 2022. The real audio showed no sign of the man being forced to chant Jai Shree Ram rather the people at the scene were hitting the man for the crime he committed.
The same incident had been reported by The Indian Express and ANI. As per the report, a middle-aged man was assaulted in broad daylight in a Delhi locality after he allegedly molested a 13-year-old girl. The man was thrashed by a group of men using stones and sticks but was rescued later. Police identified the accused as Irfan Khan (37), an accountant, who is married and has three children. Based on the girl’s complaint, a case was registered against Khan under stalking charges and sections of the POCSO Act. Khan was sent to judicial custody. The incident took place on May 7, 2022.

Thus, it is clear that the viral video does not depict Hindus lynching a Muslim man over chanting Jai Shree Ram. And the audio of the video was doctored.
