FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be MISLEADING.
Running the keyframes of the viral video through a reverse image search, the NM team traced it back to a Facebook post by local media handle Milli Digest dated June 29, 2024. The post featured the same footage showing a waterlogged Red Fort. As the video predates the recent flood situation in India, it is evident that the viral claim is misleading. The viral clip is old and not connected to the current floods.
We also observed that the viral video carries the logo of the news portal ETNow Swadesh. Using keywords such as ‘2024 Delhi Rains’ and ‘Red Fort during rains in Delhi 2024’ on YouTube, we found the same video uploaded to the ETNow Swadesh on June 29, 2024. The title of the video read: “PM Modi’s viral speech, Diwali se pehle laal kille mein bana jharna, Delhi mein pehli baar barish ke baad.”
It is important to note that this clip is now being reshared on social media with a misleading claim of being recent. In reality, the video is over a year old and has no connection with the current flood situation in Delhi.

The same video was also available on the YouTube channels of news portals Times Now Navbharat and Bharat Samachar, uploaded around the same time. Additionally, we found media reports on NDTV dated June 28, 2024, covering how the Red Fort had nearly submerged in rainwater during the heavy downpour in Delhi.
Hence, it is evident that the viral clip of a waterlogged Red Fort is not recent but dates back to June 2024. The claim stands misleading.
