Following the tragic crash of Air India’s London-bound flight AI-171 in Ahmedabad, a disturbing image showing what appears to be charred aircraft wreckage is being widely shared on social media. It’s claimed that the image shows the aftermath of the crash.

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral image and found it to be False.
A Reverse Image Search yielded no credible media coverage or publicly verifiable source linking the image to the crash.
A close analysis reveals clear signs of AI manipulation: inconsistent lighting and shadow placement, unnatural blending of textures, especially around debris, visual distortions near faces and background structures which are common in synthetic imagery.
We further verified the image using AI-detection tools — Hive Moderation and WasItAI — which confirmed that the image was generated using artificial intelligence.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the image circulating online is not from the Air India crash in Ahmedabad. It has been digitally manipulated.
