FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the video in question, and found it to be a deepfake.

Upon close analysis, the NM team identified several discrepancies, including noticeable lip-sync issues between the audio and visuals.

Running the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, we traced the original footage embedded in a Google blog by Pichai.

In this video which was originally posted on YouTube on October 11, 2023, Sundar Pichai spoke about fighting climate change as humanity’s next big moonshot, and Google’s commitment to leading by example through clean energy initiatives, AI-driven solutions, and partnerships to reduce carbon emissions and create a sustainable future.

Closely analysing both videos, we found that the visuals were quite identical, including Pichai’s clothing and the background. However, despite these similarities, the original video contains no mention of any investment platform.

Additionally, the deepfake analysis tool — TrueMedia’s deepfake detector — revealed strong evidence of manipulation, with a 92% confidence score indicating AI-generated audio. The tool also detected AI-driven alterations in up to 91% of the facial features in the video, further confirming the use of deepfake technology.

NewsMobile recently debunked more such deepfake videos of Sudha Murthy and Sundar Pichai promoting investment platforms.
