FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the claim, and found it to be a Deepfake.
Analysing the clip closely, the NM team identified several inconsistencies, particularly noticeable lip-sync discrepancies between the audio and visuals.
Running the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, we traced the original video of Dr Devi Shetty on the official YouTube channel of Narayana Health, dated September 29, 2022.
In the original clip, recorded for World Heart Day, Dr Shetty, Chairman & Founder of Narayana Health, advises a CT Angio or heart CT scan every 10 years for individuals over 40. There is no mention of remedies for joint pain, confirming that the viral video is altered.
A detailed comparison of both videos reveals identical visuals. However, the original video does not refer to remedies for joint pain.
A deeper analysis using TrueMedia’s deepfake detector showed substantial digital manipulation. The tool identified AI-driven modifications to facial features and confirmed the audio as 100% AI-generated. [Detailed analysis can be seen here].
So in conclusion, the viral video featuring Rajat Sharma and Dr Devi Shetty is a clear example of misinformation and digital manipulation facilitated by deepfake technology.
