A video circulating on social media claims that on the occasion of Navratri, users can get three months of free mobile recharge. The clip begins with Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying, “From the first day of Navratra – September 22, no one has to pay anything…” followed by a person dressed as a news anchor explaining supposed steps to avail the offer.

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the claim and found it to be misleading and part of a phishing scam.
Clicking the link shared with the post redirects users to a suspicious domain — cryptobatter.com — which has no connection with Jio, Airtel, Vi, or any government body. The use of an unofficial URL itself is a major red flag.

A Google search yielded no credible reports or official announcements about such a scheme. We also checked the verified websites and social media handles of leading telecom operators and the Government of India — no such free recharge offer exists.
It is clear that neither the government nor telecom operators are offering a three-month free recharge for Navratri. The viral claim is a phishing attempt designed to lure users into visiting fake websites and stealing personal information.
