FACT CHECK
NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be fake.
We found that most of the users had shared links to a YouTube video. On clicking the link we found that the video was removed from YouTube for violating their social media policy on spam, deceptive practices and scams.
Further, we couldn’t find any media report to suggest that UP Government has announced such schemes.
We also found that PIB Fact Check had also tweeted to refute a similar viral claim and called it a fraud. (English translation, ” A #WhatsApp message is claiming that the Indian government is providing free internet to 100 million users for 3 months. #PIBFactCheck : This claim is false. No such announcement has been made by the Government of India.”)
Based on the above, we can ascertain that the viral post is fake.
