As the third voting phase took place in 93 constituencies on May 7, across 11 States and Union Territories for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, a Hindi newspaper clipping featuring BJP national president JP Nadda has been making the rounds on social mediam with a headline: “Nadda urges victory for NDA to thwart entry of 300 terrorists into India.”
A Facebook user posted the viral post (Archive link) with the following caption:
चुनाव में आतंकवादी आ गया….. लेकिन नड्डा को कैसे पता कि देश में 300 आतंकी घुसने वाले हैं?
(English translation: Terrorist came in the election….. But how does Nadda know that there are 300 terrorists going to enter the country?)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
With a relevant keyword search, the NM team traced a news report in Dainik Bhaskar, dated October 21, 2020. According to the article, Nadda spoke at a public gathering in Bihar’s Buxar urging people to vote for NDA. He highlighted the border security concerns, as 300 terrorists are attempting to infiltrate into India.

We also came across a YouTube video on the official channel of the BJP. Here, we can see Nadda’s entire speech in Buxar and at around the 43:19-minute, he mentioned that there’s a report indicating 300 terrorists attempting to infiltrate our border, but he expressed confidence that our courageous soldiers will eliminate them.
Given that the event happened in October 2020, it cannot be linked to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming JP Nadda asked the public to vote for NDA in Lok Sabha elections to protect the country from 300 terrorists who are about to enter, is false.
