Following the recent Gen-Z protests in Nepal, a video showing a massive crowd on the streets is circulating on social media with the claim that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan travelled to Nepal to meet government officials. Several users shared the clip, believing the claim to be genuine.
The caption with the video reads: “नेपाल में पहुंचे शाहरुख खान 26 ऐप जो बंद हुआ है वहाँ की सरकार से बात करने यह है बादशाह का पावर”
(English translation: “Shahrukh Khan reached Nepal to talk to the government of Nepal which has banned 26 apps, this is the power of the king.”)

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral claim and found it to be false.
A keyword search yielded no credible media reports to support the assertion. A visit by a global celebrity of Shah Rukh Khan’s stature would have been widely covered, yet no such news appeared.
We also checked Shah Rukh Khan’s official social media accounts on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). There were no posts or updates suggesting any visit to Nepal.
Next, we ran a reverse image search on keyframes extracted from the viral video. The results showed that the footage was unrelated to Shah Rukh Khan and in fact depicted visuals from the ongoing protests in Nepal. The same video was posted online on September 9, 2025, in connection with the demonstrations.

Hence, the viral claim linking Shah Rukh Khan to the Nepal protests is misleading. The video shows protest scenes and has nothing to do with the actor.
