FACT CHECK
NewsMobile did the fact-check, and found it to be false.
On doing a Google Reverse Image Search, we found one screenshot taken from a video — published by Zee 24 Ghanta — on August 24, 2021. The video was shared with a caption: “CPI-M: প্রথমবারেই বিপত্তি! আলিমুদ্দিনে কিছুটা উঠল উল্টো পতাকা, সামাল দিলেন সেলিম” (English translation: “CPI-M: The first setback! Alimuddin raised a bit of an upside down flag, Salim handled it.”)

Anand Bazaar Patrike had also published the report of the incident on August 15, 2021. According to the article, Biman Bose was going to hoist the flag in the wrong way. But at the moment of hoisting the flag, the CPI-M leaders Mohammed Salim and Sujan Chakraborty, who were standing next to him, saw the wrong position of the flag. Salim came forward quickly, and handled the situation.”

CPI-M had shared a video of the flag hoisting at the headquarter.

Thus, we can ascertain that the viral claim is fake.
