A video is widely being shared on social media in which a person can be seen playing badminton. The caption hints that the man in the viral video is Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The post caption reads, “ബാറ്റ്മിന്റനിൽ കഴിവ് തെളിയിക്കുന്ന ഇന്ത്യയുടെ അഭിമാനം” (English translation: India’s pride in proving its talent in badminton.)

NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be misleading.
On searching with the appropriate keywords, we found that the same video was uploaded by a Facebook User on January 3, 2022. The post caption reads, “Haryana Bjp cm khattar.”
On searching with the keywords, “khattar playing badminton”, we found the same video was uploaded by Hindustan Live on January 3, 2022. The description of the video read, “Video of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar playing badminton during the inauguration of the badminton tournament in Panchkula is going viral on social media.”
ANI also tweeted an image of Haryana CM playing badminton with the caption, “Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated tennis and badminton court at the community centre in Sector 6 of Karnal today. He also played badminton at the occasion.”
Hence, it is evident that the viral video shows Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar playing badminton and not PM Modi.
